 Welcome to our web site--welcome to our Shul. We are a dynamic modern orthodox synagogue located " off Bathurst Street" in the Bayview/York Mills area of the City of Toronto. From humble beginnings some 20 years ago, our shul has grown to become a vibrant and caring "Kehillat" which is dedicated to our community and supportive of its members. We are the 'little shul that could'. We owe our existence to the vision of a handful of families who had imigrated to Toronto from South Africa and who wanted to create a 'Kehillat" that cared for each other. From that vision, our community grew to include other families that were new to our part of the City, to our community or to the modern orthodox tradition. We are a community that values education and growth and it is for that reason that we place special empasis on learning with our Rabbi, and in our continuing education program. We are also a Kehillat that is committed to our youth and to insuring that they receive a taste of "yiddishkeit" that encourages them to taste more. But most of all, we are a welcoming congregation, happy to see and greet strangers at our daily and Shabbat services and hopeful that our special spirt may give our guests ( and hopefully future members) the desire to come back and spend more time in our shul.
